How to Get Started

Getting started as a Requester is relatively easy. The following is a list of things I did to begin my research on Mechanical Turk.  Some of the steps are optional, but I highly recommend each one of them.



Create a Mechanical Turk Requester account.

• Fund your account by clicking on "Account Settings" in the upper right corner of the default home page, and click on "Prepay for Mechanical Turk HITs".

Create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account. (OPTIONAL)

• Find and document your access keys. 

Create a Mechanical Turk Worker account. (OPTIONAL)

• This will come in handy when you pilot test your HITs.  Be sure to document your Worker ID.

Sign up for an account at the following websites to manage your reputation. (OPTIONAL)

• HITs Worth Turking For
• CloudMeBaby
• Turker Nation
