From Requester to Worker

Image from http://www.rightmixmarketing.com/right-mix-blog/creating-a-referral-network/After evaluating hundreds of HITs and reading thousands of comments, I realized that a gap exists between Requesters and Workers.  That is, Workers don't know what Requesters know, and vice versa.  The following is a list of important information that should be shared from Requester to Worker:

1.  When a Worker submits an HIT, the Requester has access to the following information about the Worker and his/her submission:
    • Worker ID
    • HIT ID
    • HIT Type ID
    • Assignment ID
    • Approval Time
    • Lifetime Approval Rate
    • Last 30 days Approval Rate
    • Last 7 days Approval Rate
    • Submit Time
    • Accept Time
    • Rejection Time
    • Requester Feedback
    • Work Time in Seconds
    • Input Data
    • Comments

2.  If you are participating in social science research, then understand the task won't always be fun & interesting.  But you will be contributing to our understanding of important issues in society.  Researchers are trained (and often required) to follow certain protocols and procedures.

3.  Mechanical Turk can be difficult for Requesters to use.  Keep in mind that some Requesters have more experience than others, meaning some studies will be better than others.
